OUTSIDE MY WINDOW 1&2 again

These two were done some time ago, but have recently been purchased, so I did a little freshening up on them before shipping. Thank you so much for the tips on Liquin and the use of alternate support surfaces. When I say I know very little about oil painting, it's not false modesty. I know the salad dressing would have been so much easier to do if I'd done some investigating instead of diving right in. Oh well, nothing like on the job training and the generosity of my fellow artists.

The pups are simply amazing! Their names change every hour. I think Taz, formerly Little Richard, aka Dignon, has finally gotten the hint that my earlobe is not going to express mother's milk. I spent two weeks listening to Cesar Milan's book while working, I've downloaded all manner of instructions on being a strong pack leader and was determined to do it right this time. However, it didn't take long before I surrendered to the little tykes completely. They're crawling on our heads, nibbling on our fingers and are already spending far too much time in bed with us. Devlin ran the house and was kind enough to let us stay, provided we paid the mortgage. Seems like old times and we couldn't be happier.

  1. Interesting duo, the paintings I mean! You must have had a lot of patience to paint all those leaves, love the paintings and your other duo too, cute as sugar pie, what fun you will have.

  2. Suz, these paintings are excellent. I love the variety of greens you worked into both of them. I love the light and shadow patterns. I love the depth thru value and chroma. I guess you might get the idea that I love what you did with these. I felt the theme of love was important in this comment as I feel it all over your past two posts... Enjoy the new babies... -Don

  3. Diana, thank you so much! For some reason, painting leaves calms me. Who knew? And the little ones are...I have no words. Cute as sugar pie nails it! Thanks again.

  4. Don, I dearly love to read your comments! Thank you so very much! Freshening up the paintings really helped, now that I know about Liquin!
It's so nice to be surrounded by these little creatures. If they could bottle puppy breath and sell it, they'd make a fortune, whoever "they" are. A little apprehensive about working in their schedule and mine when Tim goes back tomorrow. Arrrrgh! Wish me luck and thanks so much again.

  5. Beautiful job on the paintings! The light on the leaves gives them that waxy realism. Love the "spotted" areas. Very impressive!

Cesar is THE pack leader. Remember: Strong & Assertive Energy! He just did an entire show on Puppies. Hope you caught it.

  6. Oh my god, those puppies are SOOOOO cute. No wonder they're ruling the roost already. Great pics, but what about a pic with YOU?! This is a request!

  7. What a gorgeous painting Suzanne! Love the color and light in this, it's right on the money.

Also enjoyed seeing Robin Cheers park fountain because we have one just like this across the street from me here in Brooklyn and the painting captures how the kids love it.
