REINCARNATED?

Tim Berry and Great Great Grandfather, John McClelland
NFDP

I just had to post this comparison photo I put together. This is himself, circa 1992, juxtaposed against a photo of his great, great grandfather John. The family is putting together a beautiful bound book of its history and when Tim's aunt saw this likeness she sent it along to show us. We were stunned! And Tim's brother, Conor, looks even more like his great, great than Tim does!

Spooky no?

  1. Wow, that is fascinating. I wonder if they would share personality traits as well.

  2. Quite the resemblance! We have a similar phenomenon in our family because my mom looks very much like my great-great grandmother Harriet.

  4. Fun to compare photos of ancestors and living relatives. The same with my older sister and maternal grandmother. Really fun when we notice similar personality characteristics.

  5. Don't you just love the way gene's work? Maybe it's the artist in me, but I was always fascinated. I love looking at families I don't know and seeing which parent the children look the most like.

  9. Wow. Genetics at work. Handsome dudes too.
I look like an exact cross between my father, mother, and maternal grandmother. It's bizarre.
    What about you?

  10. That's amazing! And something else that's amazing is that your Tim has a brother named Conor. That's our son's name! Spelled the same way. Do-do-do-do.....

  12. I've noticed that this is very common in families. When you look at the old photos some current member of the family is a dead ringer.
I find it astounding. I always remember this story told to me by a friend who visited his ancestral village in Ireland. He went into a Pub and lo and behold, they recognized him as a member of a certain clan because of his strong resemblance to them. He'd never been there before!
