BERNICE

20x20" oil on linen $150

Meet Bernice! Newly refreshed, having just gone under the brush, she is feeling reborn! Formerly known as "Bug 13," Bernice has had her rather funky badly- painted purple shadow removed and replaced with a more age-appropriate blue one. Madam's hard candy shell has been re-painted, touched up and buffed to a shine with more intense highlights and deeper shadows. And her spots have been refurbished and surrounded with a shimmering coat of intense Rouge Carmin by Sennelier. Bernice is now indeed ready for a night on the town.

Independently wealthy and never married, Bernice enjoys traveling, art, the ballet and long walks on the bricks in the front yard of her palatial estate in the Hamptons. A bit eccentric and a tad flighty, she is nevertheless, always in demand and a delightful guest at any garden party.

  5. Nice! She looks a little bewildered by her makeover.

...almost any garden party... she won't get many invites from the aphids over there on Rose Court.

Another little gem of a painting.

  13. Hello there Suz!... Your painting is always as rich... and playful as your prose! Your skills in creating both... and synchronizing them to their limits of perfection... make coming to your site for a visit a veritable feast... for the eyes and soul!

Artists who create seriously... all suffer from a tad of insecurity Suzanne. They do so because... for the most part, they work in solitude and single purpose... aside from those only chug grudgingly through existence... creating expressions from their soul that defy being "ordinary"... if only in their own vision of things.

Most do not paint only for the monetary comebacks. For most... it is the validation for their work by those who really understand... and "see" the underlying truth within the work!

We are kindred spirits... drawn together... to the "fire"... just like Bernice and her ilk... and see a world possible... where competition and envy simply... and beautifully... have no place!

Thank you for your words in your "Play Back" below! I am deeply moved... and proud for your recognition... and Friendship!

Good painting and Sales! Hope that Bernice paints the town Green... and not Red! Red and Green do work at this time of the year though! HA HA!!!

    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
