UNTITLED in progress

detail  18x37" in progress

I'm fairly excited about this painting. You might remember Laura, my model from sometime last year. Her face appeared cropped on cradled hardboard for a painting entitled "A Hesitant Introduction." I've been wanting to take the shots from her session and bring them together in some way that might make not only an interesting composition but also be fun to work on. Success!

I won't go into too much detail except to say that there are four figures in the painting, all Laura, and I can honestly say that I'm happy with everything about it. We'll see!

Thanks for stopping by, hope the weekend was a good one.

  10. Oh wow! This is fantastic! I just love her expressions and I recognized her straight away from your last painting of her. I think the bit I like the most is the way the light is hitting her face :0)

  16. Suze, something I really LOVE about your work is it's complexity. You can take a seemingly simple subject and bring out everything that's unique and complex about it, making us see things that we wouldn't otherwise see.

In other words. . . I LOVE this painting. Well done! Huzzah!!

  24. HI there Suzanne!... The concept is really interesting... and already... the first two seem to be "in conversation"... and hardly seem isolated. "Getting the cold shoulder treatment"... is what I read here! HA HA!! I talk to my Self lots... and get that a lot from my "Other"! HA HA!!

Look forward to what transpires! A great start... with good painterly likenesses... despite the digital input!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
