CHEEK TO CHEEK

CHEEK TO CHEEK

Pugs, bugs...what's up with the "ugs?" I could make a cheesy joke about painting while decked out in a pair Uggs, but I won't. Don't own any anyway.

Back to work and feelin' better. Must be part of the creative process. Whatever, good riddance! The studio is feeling less like the fifth ring of hell and I've gotten two paintings started, plus this one, but I'm going to work over the weekend to make up for the days lost wallowing.

I really am enjoying doing the studies of the boys because it gives me a chance to paint looser, although this is a tad tighter than I wanted it to be.

I've missed visiting my favorite blogs and plan to do just that tomorrow morning with tea. Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by!

  8. Uggs ~ Pugs - they are too darling! They surely keep you hopping. Love the pose and the light on this one. I hear ya on the touch of Mahockiss, but I think it passes through this part of the world occasionally, as well. Paint on!

  9. These cuties are so adorable! They tie in very nicely with the upholstery too! I'm quite sure I would sit on them by accident - and I bet they'd be really comfy too ;0)
I have a new realism painting in mind, which I hope to start soon. Meanwhile I feel the need practice loosening up, so I really think I should start sketching again to help me on the way :0)

  14. I've been considering leaving some background underpainting "as is" myself. So this lovely painting of your boys is inspiring me to leave some areas alone with the looser suggestive strokes and concentrate on the main focus for the tighter stuff.

(Too bad Uggs doesn't make pug-sized booties.)
