Peaceful, soothing and joyful. These are good emotions. I like feeling good. Toward that end, I see more of these, some perhaps even larger, in my future. This was just pure fun to work on.

The shapes and folds, attained simply by mushing the sheet about by hand, begin to take on their own identity. Some start vaguely resembling the human form and then morph into the petals of a flower, an outstretched arm, a head of lettuce or a stack of paper. The possibilities seem endless. I'm very happy.

  4. I pulled this up several hours ago and just keep looking at this beautiful melange of sheets... I find it a very warming and peaceful painting and think that one could look at this for a very long time. I imagine it in a series of three consuming a wall.

    Exquisite, Suzanne!

  13. Just beautiful! Painting fabrics is one of my favorite subjects (gee can you tell since most of my models end up swathed in the stuff?) I also find it relaxing. Somehow meditative. Following the line of folds and curves and shadows and highlights...very lovely.

  16. Great to hear you're happy! This is remarkable. I love it when you get lost in folds, you always produce something remarkable. Along with your little insects, your folded works are my favourites.
