PAPER STUDY 1

20x20"
oil on linen
$750

Finally! Himself solved the memory card issue thank goodness. We'll see if a new camera is in our future in a few days. This was, to date, the most fun I've had painting. There's still more to do, but it's too wet to work on. I think I'll re-post when I'm done and do a comparison. I guess I just needed to get my crayons and and stay within the lines for a while, cuz it sure felt good! No likeness to match, just shapes, shadow, light, cool and warm studies. It was heaven. I am busy bawling up paper as we speak. More to come!

Suzanne, what a great job on this. I love the warm/cool colors, especially all the shades of purple in the front piece. This seems like a good idea to discipline oneself. I might give it a try.

Check it out! Masterfully painted Suzanne. I can almost see some origami-like animal shapes in this one, which adds to the fun.

Outstanding investigation! Love the dichotomy of the two colors relating to each other with the shapes as well.

Hi how are you?

I was looking through your blog, and I found it interesting, and inspiring to me, so I thought why not leave you a comment.

I too have a blog that I use out of Southern California here in San Diego.

Mostly it is a collection of artistic expression, and I have many friends with the same interests, maybe you can become my friend, and follow, and I can also follow you, if that is okay.

Well I hope to hear from you soon, and or read about you….LOL

Sincerely,
Jesse

Hi Suzanne,
I love this painting, and I'm blown away by your blog. I've been reading it for about an hour, and thought I better stop and write a comment.

I'm so sorry about your dog. I almost started to cry reading your posts.

Super work.

Take care,

Barbara

Suzanne!

Oh shit!

This is so good it got me swearing! Of all your recent "paper" paintings this is easily the strongest!

Wonderful composition and the warm and cool tones just make this look expertly done!

Who would ever think crumpled paper could be the subject matter for a great painting?

Perfection!

-Dean

Excellent! Love the juxtaposition of the warm and cool tones and all that gorgeous light. Sounds fun to paint...following the shapes...a nice meditation.
