THE MUSICIAN still in progress

24x24" oil on canvas work in progress

I'm bugged out. This caught my eye in the storeroom. Ya know when you spy a canvas that you haven't worked on in a while and you get this great feeling, like when you just got home from a shopping trip with your mom and you had a brand new set of crayons and a new coloring book? No? Well, it might have been a different set of art related circumstances, but I think you know what I mean.

Anyway, it's got a ways to go but it was a fun day. One of those days when you work without judgement, fear or insecurity. Nice.

Thank you to each and every person who has ever served in the armed forces. And thank you for stopping by, enjoy the weekend.

  1. For me it was always visiting the office supply aisle. I still have to stop by whenever I'm out at a big box store, my eyes glaze over a bit and I'm giddy with the possibilities! Love this wip, amazing the jewels you just have laying about. Can't wait to see you work more of your magic!

  5. This is going to be a lovely portrait. I can also appreciate the perfection in the perspective of the violin, having painted one before, it is so tough to get that right and this is spot on!

  10. Hi Suzanne!... You've beautifully captured the essence of making sweet music here in this portrait!

You've encompassed that passionate and sopecial relationship between classical instrument and player. The eternal question remains however:

Who's playing who? I wonder! HA HA!!!

    Good Painting... and Playin'!!!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

Oh, I loved a new box of crayons! And I don't know how old you are but do you remember DoodleArt? (70s) The originals are back! In the canister! Except with superior markers. I can't wait to get one ; )

  16. Suz, is there NOTHING you cannot paint? What a great, great composition - her arm, her instrument, her face - and yes, I know that feeling, and wish I could bottle it and give it away to every single artist. Fly FREE!
