Allegra

"Allegra"
20x20" oil on linen

SOLD

Meet Allegra. She's a dragonfly and a tad narcissistic, but who among us isn't...a tad? Clearly she's enchanted with the vision of herself and why not? She's a rainbow in motion. So many incredible colors, her whispering wings, her shapely legs.... and so many of them!

She's always been a star, in her own mind anyway. And society today does nothing to discourage her, elevating her to celebrity status merely on the basis of her looks. She spends a lot of time gazing in her mirror and posting selfies, however she does find time to shop and party with her buds.

She's young, carefree and rich. Having just graduated from Dragonfly High, Leggy as her friends call her, is planning to tour the continent before taking up residence in Paris for a year, where I'm sure she'll get into lots of good times, a little trouble and some dazzling designer duds. She might even do some modeling.

Ahh, to be young, rich, beautiful and capable of flight!

  1. I love the painting, Suzanne and this comment of yours, "Ahh, to be young, rich, beautiful and capable of flight!" Indeed!

I'd settle for young and beautiful, but rich and capable of flight sound pretty good too.

  2. WOW! Impressive! Perhaps you should include the shot of your paintings on the easel on every one. Yours are usually so big and this in 20x20, impressive I say again. :)

  3. Stunning! I love the colors you used. No wonder she's so into herself, you created her into a gorgeous creature! I love the composition, especially the shapes defined by her legs and reflections. It's been awhile since your imaginative stories accompany your paintings. I love that they're finding their way back into your blog. So fun to read... Hugs my friend.

  12. Egads Suz!!!! This is GORGEOUS!!! I love all those colors, you brought them to life in an incredibly beautiful way! I also am salivating over your lovely paintings all lined up on the floor, especially the eggs. And I really don't like eggs. But dadgum if they aren't beautiful by your brush!!

I saw a beautiful monarch butterfly on my front porch when I left to go running the other day, and thought of you. ALthough I don't think I've seen you paint a butterfly before. But still, a bug, I thought you'd turn into the most beautiful dame.
