BEAUFORD
"Beauford"
16x16" oil on heavyweight canvas
SOLD
Meet Beauford! Excellent name. And I just love his crooked toofus! I must admit I had a bit of trouble with this one. I think I might need a break. I don't have the dreads, just doing a lot of heavy sighing. Guess it's the anniversary coming up.
I am amazed by the amount of snow we've been getting and are scheduled to get again tonight and tomorrow. Depending upon where the line is we'll either get rain and snow or just snow. I'm done and I don't even have to drive in it. Although the morning after the other day, it was gorgeous out. Just mounds of the stuff stuck to branches and trees. Beautiful! Winter wonderland time. Except for the shoveling. Luckily I have that covered but after he left the big plows came out in force and BAM! Just like that, 4 feet of big chunks of half frozen slush and snow across the drive! Oh well.
Tim has been very busy this past week! I'm so fortunate, but still, there is nothin like the real thing and I miss that more than I can put into words. Sometimes I feel normal, I know he's fine and with us but sometimes...well you know.
I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks so much for dropping by.

ReplyDeleteI DO love this painting, though! Your work is flawless and so fresh! I always wonder, "how?!"
4 feet of snow and counting! It's a sunny day, though, and it sure lifts ones spirits!

ReplyDeleteWe can just imagine you painting this beautiful portrait as the snow was falling outside. You and your magic paint brush did a splendorious job on Beauford!
Oh gosh-- just look at him. His eyes are just sparkling with love!
Yes Suz, we understand how your feeling right now. And even though we know Angel Tim is there with you,,,,,its not the same...

So much personality in Beauford! He reminds me of that doggie that was in that viral video about getting a cat..where the dog was talking with the owner and getting all excited! Glad you are staying home while the weather is getting all weird on everyone in the south and east. Hope the Tim times are always the way you want them to be and that they fill you up each time with his love (cause i just know they do)
ReplyDeleteBeauford is one handsome dog! Beautiful painting, Suz. I'm with you on the heavy sighing thing. I do that a lot myself these days. Maybe time for a couch, old movies, pillow and blanket and a good book for the commercials...
ReplyDeleteAmazing piece - you are just so darned talented! And lovely to get in my Inbox! Keep your chin up, girl. It's tough. You WILL get through.
ReplyDeleteSuz, incredible! Those eyes, his nose, those teeth (esp. the toof!)!!! Your sense of capturing the life emanating from within is amazing, truly. I've never met Beauford in person but I'm sure he is very happy with his portrait...lucky dog!!
ReplyDeleteBeauford is a beauty! Great job on the eyes and love the violet you incorporated into his snout. snout??
ReplyDeleteStay warm and hopefully Spring will be here soon!
Love the blue and orange colors and you've captured an expression that makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteLove the toof! Made me smile!
ReplyDeleteSuz, the painting is utterly superb!!! ... and the name!!! I see no sign of the difficulty you mentioned. What character and love you have portrayed - I can tell this dog has a very subtle sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteGunk, he is THE BEST!!!
And I am so happy that Tim is there with you so much.
Kath XOXO
Outstanding. If this pooch had any more soul his cold wet nose would be touching mine! Well done, my friend!

Oh, Suzanne! Beauford is so Beautiful! As always, your struggles are invisible to the viewer who sees only the joy and the accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteMan....is that a gorgeous dog painting! I always think the people who wind up with these must be in 7th heaven when they get them! You just infuse them with so much vitality! I feel for all you back East in the snow. Lord! We had some last week and everything came to a grinding halt. It was only one week, however. I grew up in Illinois, so I remember the "endless" type of winter. It has to wear thin! I do wonder what Tim would have made of it--would he have gone outside to play in it???
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day, dear friend!
He's wonderful! Love the angle and yes, the crooked toofus!
ReplyDeleteI am back- to say
ReplyDeletewe love you!
Happy Valentines Day Suz, Raz and Blu and Angel Tim!

ReplyDeleteAn absolutely charmingly beautiful portrait of this guy :) But your post made me cry - I sense the longing. I wish I could take away the hurt...sending you big virtual HUGS today, tomorrow, and the next day. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! He almost licked my face! He looks THAT real! Incredible work!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have had no snow here this winter for the first time in years - but ridiculous amounts of rain and floods! Have a nice glass of red on the anniversary and think about the wonderful times you had. And if you haven't already read my latest post, then please do because there is a message in there for you :0)
Fun one, Suz! I've sure missed you and our monthly challenge but it's good we are taking a break now, as there is no way I could manage the deadlines right now. Happy painting, Girl!
ReplyDeleteLove this, and your trouble in painting is everyone else's best day ever.

Everything about this is so beautifully painted - from those soulful, liquid eyes to that fuzzy muzzle. It triggers my tactile memory and I just want to hug him ...and hug you too.
ReplyDeleteHe's just adorable, makes me miss mine all the more, I could just reach out and hug him!
ReplyDeleteI so love this, right down to the crooked teeth and reflections in his eyes.
