I was holding on until himself got around to doing his version, but happily, this painting recently sold so I had to finish it up. The finished version is on the right by the way. I'm also very proud that it will be in a Black History Month display in February at Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL.

Wow... what an awesome achievement to be part of such a prestigious Display. More bows for my Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my all time faves of yours...not surprised it sold so quickly! Congrats! What an honor to be included in that display!
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic. I like seeing the prelim. version and the shifts you made for the final. Congrats on the sale and inclusion in the show.

ReplyDeleteSuzanne!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on having this wonderful painting be part of next month's Black History display!
I love everything about this piece.
Her curlers, the facial expression, the weathered background, and the richness of her leather coat.
Just great!

This is such an interesting portrait, especially her expression. The curlers add a touch of lightheartedness to her sober and pensive look. Wonderful piece!

ReplyDeleteGwen, thank you! I'm so pleased about it. Your comments are so appreciated.
Liz, thanks so much. Himself was sitting behind me frightened I'd overwork it. Typical. He didn't even do his and he's tellin' me not to mess mine up. Ha! Thank you!
Don, thank you! Actually I am a little proud, it feels good.
Dean, thank you! I really enjoyed doing this one. Oh for good reference.
