This months art group meeting was today. The word we were given was "eight." I was stumped. Clever wasn't forthcoming and introspective was nowhere to be seen, however decorative showed up but was hastily asked to leave. Then I thought perhaps a tattoo might work. In the process, I got much more involved with the body, obviously, the tat looks like it's pasted on. I'm going to work on it and make the sections follow the contour of the muscles more which, I hope, will make it appear more like genuine ink.
This is more an illustration than a painting, I think. Perhaps accompanying a story in connection with the feng shui of body art or something about keeping fit. Whatever the case, we're creating art together every month, something we both sorely miss since I left the job we shared five years ago.
Oh, by the way, Happy Anniversary dude and yes, I'd do it again. In a heartbeat.
Happy Anniversary to the both of you!!!
ReplyDelete"Eight" is coming along nicely. I think you're right about everything you said. I always trust that you'll make the right decisions.
-Don
I got your back, and you got the skin.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, this is fabulous work. I love your insights as to the tattoos following the muscles more, though I can't see a problem with them. I also love reading your words and thoughts. Always you give me a smile!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cool, I think you are right, it is like an illustration. I could see it on a magazine cover or in a published article. New career?
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with looking like an "illustration." Some of the best artists around are illustrators - I think this is looking great as it is! The tatoo looks like it is right in the skin - you have adjusted the light and values to
ReplyDeletecorrespond with changes in skin values - it works just fine.
I think it looks great! And what a wonderful way to spend time together- creating!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary
Wow!! Very creative, Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
I think it looks amazing! You did a fantastic job, it's just so cool. And happy anniversary!
ReplyDeletePretty amazing!!! It's definitely starting to read as ink. You never shy away from a challenge.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I really like the powerfully beautiful figure and the peacefully beautiful tattoos.

ReplyDeleteDon, thanks dude! Nothin like hookin up with a kindred spirit. And thank you, I'm glad you agree.
ReplyDeleteRick, you are too cool. Thanks.
AutumnLeave, thank you so much. I think the muscle contour problem is much easier to see in real life but I'm happy it looks ok. And your words are very much appreciated!
tgibson, this translates to: Love is an invention of the need to constantly improve. Only, this is not the same invention and other inventions, it does not franchise, will be snatched away at any time. Hmmmmm
Mary Ann, thank you! Himself used to illustrate. It was difficult when editors don't see your vision. Painting is all up to us!
Karen, point well made and well taken. Himself is both and I agree with you. And thank you for your insight, it helps to hear another point of view.
