PUGS

I thought it appropriate to re-post these two paintings o' pugs as we are now raising two of them. It's been a interesting process. I'm a classic, majestic lines kinda gal...did I just say gal? I love Labs, Shepherds. Himself is the pug guy. I was against the Lab but seein as how that turned out to be the second best decision he ever made I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happened.  I never thought I'd fall as deeply in love with these faces as I have but it's a fact. Himself was right again. I think they are the most beautiful faces ever. Next to Devlin the Wonder Dog of course.

  2. Great paintings, gal... You might want to be careful with that "he's right again" thing. He may use it against you some day.... I know I would... ;-)

  3. Scrumptiously beautiful!! I'm not a pug owner, but I have several clients who adore these little fellas. How can you not fall in love with all of those wrinkles, and that love me look on their little pug mug? These are both just perfect; very well done.

  6. Becky Joy, thank you so much! When I did them I didn't have Pugs. Now the paintings look so different to me because of the pups.

Don, you are so right. He's already using it! I'll be more careful. And thanks! The Gal

Angela, thank you so very much for your kind words. I really appreciate them.

Joan, thank you so much! I so appreciate your words.

Vicki, thanks so much. Now that would be nice. I'm off to check out MyArtTutor.com and I'll be happy to spread the word.

  7. These are so beautiful! What an amazing feat to paint faces that only a mother could love and make them noble and intelligent.

BTW, my 15 year old son would LOVE to have a pug. I have allergies, so we have no animals in the house. Pugs would not do well outside here in north Idaho. For one thing it's way too cold in the winter and for another thing, they'd be owl, coyote, cougar, bear, or wolf bait!

  9. Suzanne, these are absolutely gorgeous. It's great to be on Daily Painters with you (I am new to the group) and to find out you have pugs too!I They have a way of taking ownership of your heart, don't they? We have three little fatties, Howard Pee Pugpants, Anniebelly Bossybritches, and Java Cheesy - they make us laugh every day. Love your work and congrats!
