  1. Every time you open your mouth, Suzanne, (on the keyboard) I find yet another reason to love you! Modern Family marathons!!!! My husband cannot fathom it. I'm so happy when I 'finish' a marathon of MF, it makes me happy! And I agree, the best parties are just with the bestest of best friends. Happy 2014. I'm thrilled you're doing Leslie's Challenge - me, too… same hesitations. And today I'm going to remember my favorite quote from The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: Everything will be all right in the end. And if it isn't all right, it isn't the end. love & kisses to you and the boys….

  3. Another post that resonates with me, Suzanne. Your words are beautifully expressive and so inspirational. I have felt the same way about the challenge. I carry many doubts and negative thoughts, but at the same time felt like this challenge (which I have participated in before) would be a good experience. So at almost the last minute I signed on and will carry through as far as I feel I can. Thank you, Suzanne for your beautiful work and words! hugs and pats to you and the boys!

  4. Happy New Year! Oh, the idea of 30 in 30, whoo. But if we get to see lots of the pups, then we win! Hugs

  5. I'm signed up for the challenge too, and I decided to allow myself a few allowances. First off, I get a pass on the days I work 12 hour shifts. Secondly, I will allow sketches to count, as long as I give it at least a few swashes of wet paint or ink. :) Happy New Year!

  6. Happy New Year, Suz! These apples are great...that one in the front is lobbying to be eaten! 30 days....ooo you are up against it sistah! haha! But I know you..You're stubborn. Almost all those daily painters are direct painters, maybe you should throw a few direct paintings in...just because. I have a feeling anything you paint in any method will be great. But wait. Why am I giving you advice? I love what you've said about our inner voice. It sometimes champions us...and sometimes beats us up...! We have to wrestle ourselves away from that negative naysayer. I'll be watching for your paintings. :)

  8. there are no bad apples...just ones that are further back or further along on the journey.... I am keeping that thought in mind for these 30 Days of Paintings. It's about the journey. Fabulous painting...no frauds that I can see :)

  9. Haha, you painted them too well so I can't tell any are fakes. But it's still a great title! They are so beautifully and wonderfully shiny! I look forward to some pups. :)

  10. Amazing! You are such a brave soul! 30 in 30! I wonder where we would be without a challenge? I love the way you meet one. I have so much to learn!

  11. I love that you're in the 30 days painting challenge. I need to know someone who does it and survives to paint another day. :)) I thought about joining in too, looked at the pile of work in front of me, two piles of laundry in hampers and, and...(see the excuses I throw up??) Next challenge I WILL join in!

You know those voices? Tell them to phaff off, you'll rock a painting each and every day. Besides, you'll be too busy painting to listen to them.

PS The apples work beautifully, rich colours and solid forms.

  12. My sweetest Suz,
Moms are ohhhing and awwwing over those apples- thinking they can smell their fragrance, and want to take a bite- cause they know those apples are crisp and juicy- and they are the real deal!
And moms said--"how can she do that in one day"!
I say- cause your my magic friend, and you can do it!
    love

  15. Do you I spent time looking for the frauds? Couldn't find them so you must buy quality fake fruit. LOL I am always amazed when I hear of a fine artist having self doubts? I've never seen anything come off your brush that wasn't beautiful, Suz.

  16. Well done...and way to go! As always, I look forward to each new painting you create. So glad there'll be so many in the next month. Enjoy the ride, Soooz! That's what it's all about. :o)

  20. So happy to see your painting, read your post (- as always!) and know that you're also in on the 30 in 30 challenge!
I've joined as well. I wanted to do it the last few times as well, but working full-time and getting home late in the evening I just thought I could not do it - so why bother? Rather not be disapointed in myself. But like you I decided 'so what', just have a go at it! I came across a quote that sums it up: "If we wait until we're ready, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives". I took this quote as my motto, posted it on my Facebook page to officially commit to the challenge, and just jumped in the deep end. Let's see how many I'll manage, but I already feel like it was worth it!
And regarding the voices: if I'm not too blue, I decided to just let them play along, not try and negate them. As long as they play nicely, that is... Big hug to you, looking forward to your next painting!
